Bushwalking is just what it sounds like…walking in the bush. It is actually similar to hiking or trekking but due to the amount of “bush” found in Australia….they coined the term “bushwalking”.
Australian bushwalkers do have a bit of a reputation – or at least the Australian bush does in fact some hiking wear companies won’t even release some of the
“lighter” gear in Australia because the bush there is too rough.
Bushwalking… like hiking and trekking, develops both the mind and the body but the difference between the two are that in Australia the bushwalker might tread in places that no man has ever gone before. The Australian bush is peaceful yet dangerous if one doesn’t have knowledge about it.
Bushwalking itself covers a wide range of terrain in Australia. From Far North Queensland to the wild territory of South West Tasmania. The difference in terrain, temperature etc….from one area of Australia to another https://fakegoldwatch.re/ is immense. From desert 510 drip tip walking to ski touring….from easy track walking to canyoning in the Blue Mountains…Australia offers hiking options that are vast and varied.
But where did this term “Bushwalking” come from? Well….the term bushwalking came from the name of the first hiking club in Sydney. The club began in the 1920s and although it was originally called the “Waratah Walking Club” the name changed to Bush Walking and later to the Sydney Bush Walkers.
The Australian “bush” is the combination of eucalypt forests, wildflowers and
scrub. Although it was once thought that you should pioneer new bush when bushwalking and make “tracks” to let others know you were there….bushwalking etiquette today is quite different. It’s something every bushwalker has to learn.
This etiquette is called “MIB” but in this case does not stand for “men in black” but “minimum impact bushwalking”. This means that you don’t damage the environment. The motto is “take nothing but photos, leave nothing”.
There is an unwritten rule in the MIB…and it is to restrict the maximum size of the group of walkers. This allows for a more organized hike which means less garbage left behind. Most people don’t like to hike in large groups anyway.
Most people learn about bushwalking givenchy 747097 1 casual shoes for men by either following the Nike theory of “just do it” or joining a bushwalking club where you will find countless number of bushwalking veterans who will be more than happy to teach you.
One of the reasons Vape Mini Cup for the MIB policy is that Australia is blessed with an incredible array of flora and fauna which should be preserved. As far as the flora goes you could see anything from the Wollemi Pine to the native orchid, you just have to be on the lookout, but when you do spot them you will be amazed by nature’s wonder.
The fauna (contrary to popular belief) is present, you just have to be quiet so as not to scare them away. Magpies, twynam, pygmy possom and pythons….they’re all there, just waiting to greet you.
However, be cautious when feeding them, in fact it’s advised not to. Tourists have been “mugged” by large male kangaroos. Once they see that you are willing to give food, they will be much more aggressive in getting it when you don’t want to give.
So in conclusion…many of you have heard about the Australian “outback” but there’s also the “bush” and that’s where bushwalking occurs and thrives because of the rough terrain and challenges that lie within it. Gooday mate!!
